As part Peckham Festival 2018, Stitch–School's embroidery experts invite passers-by to drop in and collaborate stitching a large piece of printed fabric ‘The Peckham Supper Cloth’.
The Peckham Supper Cloth was first stitched during Peckham Craft Weekend in May 2018, and returns to Peckham Festival to continue this work. The event will feature a brand new embroidery table, kindly constructed and sponsored by Footprint Scenery.
The Supper Cloth aims to bring people together offering a chance to get away from mobile devices and embrace the resurgence of hand embroidery. The digital printed linen stretched on the table provides a base to practice and focus stitching as well as encouraging conversation through communal making and slow stitching as an antidote to modern life.
This is a free drop in event, welcoming all ages and abilities. The cloth will be open at the following times:
Saturday 15 Sept 11am - 6pm
Sunday 16 Sept 11am - 6pm
